About Help for Heroes

Help for Heroes offers comprehensive support to those who have suffered life changing injuries and illnesses while serving our country.

This support is provided through grants direct to our Heroes and their families, grants to other charities and through four Help for Heroes Recovery Centres across the UK.

A study in September 2014 by Help for Heroes and the Royal College of Psychiatrists found that 75,000 men and women may need long term support following our involvement in the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I Wonder Where He Is Now | Help For Heroes

The Soldiers’ Gary Chilton - in support of Help for Heroes releases Single "I Wonder Where He Is Now" written for fallen friends.

I Wonder Where He Is Now is in the Top 10 Contenders for Christmas No.1!!

"It is an excellent song and very worthwhile charity and with Band Aid flagging this could easily be a contender," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Gary Chilton shot to fame with the group The Soldiers, who captured the nations hearts as the singing trio of full time serving officers of the British Army. Their Album was an overnight success.

More recently Gary Chilton became the first British serving solider to release a solo single and he is now proud to announce his collaboration with the charity Help For Heroes for this single release. Help for Heroes charitable work has never been greater. The charity is there to support every day AND for Life.

Adrian Warwick, whose inspiration came from two close friends who sadly passed away too soon, wrote the poignant song lyrics. He thought of those friends like brothers. Through Gary's own experiences on the front line and the inevitable loss of life he witnessed amongst his 'band of brothers', the two came together and approached Help For Heroes. The charity loved the sentiment of the track and felt it was a good fit for them and would help raise much needed funds. 'I Wonder Where He is Now' tells a poignant, uplifting story of our time that will resonate not just with service men and women but with all those who have lost someone close to them.

Gary is a serving British Soldier and drew inspiration from his own experiences on the front line, "The men and women we serve with are not just colleagues. The bond that is created through such difficult situations creates relationships that are more akin to family and when one of them falls, it hurts like hell in the same way it would if you were to lose a mother, father, brother or sister. When they are taken from you, you lose the person but you never lose the memories and it's these memories that keep you driving forward" (Gary Chilton) Adrian and Gary realised that regardless of the location or circumstances, the loss of a friend unites all through shared emotion and the same questions being asked.
